90pluswines gathers all ratings from professional wine raters worldwide.
For each wine we calculate an average score.
This score is called the Universal Wine Score (UWS).
Since the Universal Wine Score (UWS) is the average score of all scores of all professional wine critics
we can say the Universal Wine Score (UWS) is an independant standard for quality of a wine.
Whenever the Universal Wine Score (UWS) is 90 or higher it can be considered a wine of outstanding quality.
'Outstanding' means the wine meets the highest standard of quality achievable for the grapes it used, in the region it has been made in , and the vintage it is from.
